Hey, I’m Shan — photographer, storyteller, professional third wheel, and the heart & soul behind Captured Photography & Design. 🤍

I’m completely obsessed with love, laughter, people, and the moments that deserve to be remembered forever. The big ones, of course, but even more so the beautifully unplanned, blink-and-you’ll-miss-them moments that make your wedding completely and unmistakably yours.

I’ve been photographing weddings for more than a decade, and I can genuinely say I love what I do. It’s never just been a job — it’s what lights me up. Wedding photography is about so much more than beautiful images (although you’ll absolutely get those!). It’s about connection, storytelling, and capturing your day with heart, soul, and all the in-between magic that unfolds when you’re fully in it with your favourite people.

The tears, belly laughs, nervous hands, windblown hair, champagne spilling over, your people losing their minds on the dance floor, and those tiny glances no one else notices — that’s the good stuff. I want photographs that take you straight back there, so you don’t just remember what your wedding looked like, but exactly how it felt.

Over the years, this little camera of mine has taken me all over Australia — from Byron Bay to Broome, Tasmania’s wild coastlines to the golden outback sunsets of the Northern Territory, Airlie Beach to the Adelaide Hills, and so many incredible places in between. I still get a buzz every time I pack my bags, knowing another love story and another adventure is waiting.

I’m proud to have been named one of Australia’s Top 10 Wedding Photographers and #1 Wedding Photographer at the Wedding Industry Awards for multiple years running. The greatest compliment, though, will always be when two people trust me enough to say, “You’re our person.” That trust means everything to me, because I know these photographs will outlive the wedding day itself.

Years from now, they’ll take you back to the people who were there, the way you loved each other, the ridiculous laughter, the happy tears and all those moments you didn’t even realise I was capturing. They’ll remind you exactly how it all felt. That thought is never lost on me — it’s with me every single time I press the shutter.

I call the beautiful coastline of Gippsland, Victoria home, but I’ll travel anywhere love takes me — across Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. Whether you’re planning a luxe destination wedding, a big celebration, or a laid-back elopement with your favourite humans, I’ll be there for it all — capturing the tears, chaos, belly laughs, wild dance floor moments, and everything in between.

Having me photograph your wedding should feel easy. I’ll bring the calm when you need it, the fun when the moment calls for it, a little direction when you’re wondering what on earth to do with your hands, and enough space for you to forget I’m even there. I want you drinking champagne, hugging your people, laughing until your face hurts, and actually living your wedding day — not performing for a camera.

My couples often tell me they felt completely at ease, like they could just be themselves and trust I had everything covered. That’s exactly how I want it to feel. When you’re comfortable, you stop thinking about the camera, your guard drops, and all those beautiful, messy, emotional moments unfold naturally.

That’s where the magic lives.

Your photographer will likely capture the last best photo of someone you truly care about. And trust me, they’ll remember.
